Dispatch: Email meets GTD App Reviews

Crashes on launch

Looks like there was a new update in the last few days. When I attempt to launch, theres no success.

Crashes on startup

I used to depend on Dispatch for all my emails. Now, I cant even open the app.

So much to like, but...

Responding to messages on the iPad is still a memory exercise - there is no way to see the message youre responding to. And the message typing area is cramped. Not a pleasant experience at all. And Ive been trying to give Dispatch another chance on my iPhone, but even thought I have background app refresh, cellular data, and notifications turned on, I never get any notifications. Thats a shame. Apps like Spark are now making it east to respond to messages from the lock screen. Dispatch is getting left behind because of this.

Deeply flawed notifications

This is an almost-great app. Its got a lot of great workflows and concepts that no other app I know has, but is a little clunky and seems in some ways half finished. Its biggest problem, though, is notifications: it doesnt use push, which means that notifications cant be as instantaneous as some apps. Thats fine by me, so long as Im notified reasonably soon (within half an hour) of getting new mail. Not so with Dispatch. When set to notify with fetch in background, background app refresh, etc. all set, I get notifications *at best* once or twice *a day*. Better to not even offer notifications than offer such poor behavior. This is a total non-starter, which is a shame, because as I said, I think its got a lot going for it.

Notifications dont work, crashes all the time

Its a good app but the new update still has so many issues. - notifications dont work even if you have background app refresh enabled - unable to attach files. Only images are possible. But this should have been mentioned clearly - crashes a lot, especially when viewing emails from other folders - share sheet doesnt work. Email gets stuck in the outbox and it doesnt get sent at all. Not sure if the developers are reading these reviews, but I hope they do and fix this good app. It has a lot of potential.

Support non-existent

Contacted support team over 5 times with same simple question over 8 month period. Never received any response of any kind. No acknowledgment of any kind. Nothing. Nada. I double-checked to ensure I had correct address, I searched everywhere in my email for a response (inbox, my spam box, etc.). Nothing there. They just didnt care to respond. And it should have been a really easy question for them to answer.

I love this almost all in one app

I personally love the way that it works with Evernote and Due obviously some of it has a few minor issues but I dont think you can blame that on the developer. Im so very grateful for this app and I own all apps made by this developer that provides so much integration with other apps.

Not the Email App you are looking for

Crashes and freezes constantly. Horrible integration with Evernote, stripping all relevant content. No response from developers. No ability to save images from email. If you want to constantly restart your email app then this is for you; otherwise keep looking.

Buy airmail instead

No support, the team doesnt answer emails. Probably because theyre using this app and never realized they receive any mail.

Great for email triage on iphone -- freezes on iPad

I have mixed feelings about this app. On one hand, its great for doing triage on email while away from my Mac. Its easy to delete, forward, file in Evernote, or send to OmniFocus. Makes quick work out of processing that long morning email queue. But trying to do the same thing on my iPad pro often results in the app freezing. I then quit the app, and continue email processing in iOS Mail. Kinda defeats the purpose. Im deleting it from my iPad, but keeping in on my iPhone.

Well made, but out of touch....

This needs a big huge update. The developers did a fantastic job, BUT I feel they are out of touch with the amazing developments included in other mail apps. I think an overhaul with more capability and easier dispatching would be great. Again the concept and much of the app is great, but there seems to be missing some heart and soul in further development of the app. This could be a 10/10, but I say a 5/10 right now. Hopefully they can talk to their customers and see what they want added. Not trying to tear them down because I so badly want them to build it better! For the non-power user I say this is a great app.

Good for email triage only, has bugs

Im updating thif Feb 2017, This was always a great for scanning new emails and quickly deleting or archiving unimportant ones in your inbox. For anything else, its unreliable and dangerous. Its very buggy and you will get burned. Creating new emails will burn you. For example, it does NOT auto save email drafts. What idiots dont auto save email drafts in this age? In fact there isnt even a way to save a draft manually. Also it crashes in attempting to create new emails with attachments like a picture. You cannot trust it. It also is terrible at searching emails, generally taking a long time and then failing to find anything. Just today, I tried email creation, all I described happened. I did email creation in a competitor app called Spark. That app doesnt autosave drafts, but when you close an new email you are creating it does give you the option to delete the draft or save the draft. Saving the draft does work and unlike Dispatch it does get proper access to email contacts list. Whatever you pick, paying for this dog of an app only to do nice triage is likely not worth it. Needs work!

Abandoned app

Abandoned app, no support, no updates. DO NOT PURCHASE

Keeps getting better and better

Excellent UI, simple and quick handling, great actions and a superb feature set (snippets, reply features, triage actions). Excellent work email client. I like the update rate of the developer(s) with ever more useful enhancements in each update.

The best

I must have tried every email app on the app store. However I’d never heard of Dispatch. This app is a miracle. Beautifully designed and full of amazing features: send to Fantastical, export emails as pdfs to cloud storage, create reminders, send to evernote, message as pdf, translate……and on an on. Most apps with so many features tend to be janky and badly designed: all features but hidden behind multiple menus with bad icons and typography. Not Dispatch. It’s pretty, it’s minimal and it’s so easy to use it must have been created by Jonny Ive and Steve Jobs’ lovechild. Buy it you will not be disappointed.

Crash systématique

Grosse déception... Lapplication crash systématiquement. Jai beau supprimer/réinstaller et rebooter, rien à faire. 4,49€ jetés par la fenêtre. (iPhone 5s sous iOS 7) This app is crashing over and over again whatever I do (reinstall and reboot is not solving the problem). Please do something ! 4,49€ for this... Seriously ? (iPhone 5s with iOS 7)

Excellent but...

Dispatch is the only app that dies integrating to the other apps and not from. I live with it lovefully but it stills lacks push (sadly we should not count on this, as the editors said). On mac you have a pendant with mailtags for similar behaviours. And as a marketcircle Daylite user, i would love have a way dispatching to the ios app.. Hopefully.

More than a port to iPad

Ive been running dispatch on my iPhone for a long while now, and its been a life saver: being an expat, the capability to just send an email to translate with a single swipe is just magic... Im not even talking about the integration of actions with the rest of the apps Im running, youll get it from MacStories reviews and other comments. Its powerful, plain and simple. Demonstration: I have now completely migrated all my emails workflows to the iPad and iPhone, and never run it on my Mac. All office/admin work is now done during commuting (2 hours per day), and the Mac is used for coding exclusively. Dispatch (and a handful of other apps, obviously) have made it possible, and an evidence. Really really good app, I recommend it warmly.

Crash

can no longer open the application since the passage under ios9: it crashes all the time.. Help!!
