Dispatch: Email meets GTD App Reviews

GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!

ABSOLUTELY life changing. Heres the thing - I have a Google and an iCloud email. Sure, I can check them both together on any app out there. But I can actually PROCESS out any garbage from both with DISPATCH; then take care of business quickly. PLUS you can customize your options quickly and without effort. Get this app dudes / dudettes / YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. After I got a year or so ago; I deleted gmail, turned all notifications off of mail and moved this next to my messages app. Yeah, its that good. Peace!

Moving on

I like the Dispatch workflow and UI, but the app doesnt get the basics right. Attach more than one photo to an email? App freezes. Switch folders on a Outlook.com account? Maybe itll work, often not. And it crashes a multiple times a day. In a year, none of these have gotten better. Apple Mail has, so moving back to that.

Missing basing functionality

I really wanted to use this app after reading about it on macstories.com, but even though I love triaging with built in actions I cant use the app. I cant attach files form iCloud or Onedrive to me email messages. This is extremely frustrating. I am not going to change where all of my work files are stored. This is disappointing, because I really like many features built in to dispatch. For this reason I am sticking with Spark as my go to iOS mail app. Im very disappointed that I cant use this interesting app

Unresponsive support; flaw in responding to emails

Dispatch has lots of fantastic features but there are 2 problems. One, when you hit reply to respond to an email, you cant see the other persons email to you as you compose your response. (You can choose whether the person receiving your response will see their original email, but you cant actually see the original email yourself as you are typing your reply.) If you want to be able to comment on something the person wrote to you and if you need to remember the exact words they used, you either have to (1) swipe back and forth from the original email and the email you are composing or (2) copy the relevant part of the original email so you can paste it into your response and view it while you are responding, or (3) you have to have a better memory than I do. Two, if you have a question for the support team, they might not respond. I emailed support 4.5 weeks ago with a simple question and received no response. I followed up twice with the same question and still got no response.

Nice...but still missing a few things

I like the triaging functions of this app...however, as other reviewers have said I both want (and often need) the original email visible as I compose my reply. There is often dates, times, and other relevant info in the senders email that I need to react to. A minor gripe- I have "Show profile photo" turned out, and "use contact photo" enabled (in fact all three options are enabled), but the app does not show any contacts whose photo is generated by their gmail account.

Smart email for productive people

This is a well-thought-out app for iOS power users. The more I use it, the more I find to love: TextExpander with the native keyboard! Dispatch to OmniFocus! Intuitive movement in the UI! 1Password integration for email account authorization! The features are powerful and discoverable, although not all of them are intuitively apparent to a first time user. It has taken me several visits to get things set right. But that speaks to the apps customizability more than anything.

Utterly useless

Remember rotary phones? And what a pain it was to laboriously dial each digit of the phone number just to make a call? Now that were in the 21st century, we only have to touch our iphone screen to call or message someone. Unfortunately this train wreck of an app is the modern day equivalent of the rotary phone--useless and outdated. Youll be lucky to even add a single email account to this clunker. Honestly its quicker to send a letter through the post office than try to send an email with Dispatch. I was a fool and wasted $7 on this junk. Please dont do the same. Youve been forewarned.

emails never arrive and we must open the app to see if we have more message input

the app is well and is very helpful, but not synchronized in real-time messages arrive very late, we need the message is received instantly.

Missing a few things that would make it the best email app ever.

I love the ability to export things to my to-do list. Makes this app super helpful and keeps the clutter of my inbox down. The things I wish it had: One: the ability to see the email you are responding to as you are responding. Annoying and UNproductive to have to keep going back to the old email. Two: I havent figured out a way to view mailboxes other than my inbox in the app. Running a business I need to check my junk folder every now and again to make sure there arent any customers trying to get in touch. This means I have to view the individual email accounts in another app, UNproductive. Three: why cant you print pdf attachments from the app?! I have to export to a pdf viewer just to print an attachment, UNproductive. If those three things would change, this app would be the most productive app Ive ever seen.

EXCELLENT

i have thousands spent in apps. this is the best of the best for email.

COULD be best Mail alternative, BUT...

I have tried just about every Mail alternative for Mac and iOS. This comes close to my needs. Better developer support would be beneficial and a desktop/OS X app is a must. I still use my Mac as my main email base and Dispatch is only iOS. iPad version is helpful. Hoping for better updates and developer support in the future. Updated 4/5/2016: No new updates since December 2015. Abandonware? Come on folks, much potential here but many needed fixes. Let’s do this!

Nice Update

I was getting concerned that the app wasnt being updated, but finally, an update worth waiting for. With support for TextExpander 4 and other powerful functionality, Dispatch has returned to my dock.

Really...

...good stuff here!!!

Nice App - When will you support the iPad???

I like and use Dispatch, mainly for it’s fast triage features. It’s available on both iPhone and iPad - nice! One thing I hope the developers will strongly consider: HTML signatures. Email signatures on Dispatch are only plain text, which means the HTML signatures I use on other apps (Mac and iOS based) don’t work. Please consider this enhancement!!!

In my dock – makes processing email fast and fun

The Go To Mail App

Alas, a mail app that is finessed to the needs of the user, intuitive, fluid, and inviting! It appears simple, but rather its terse, succinct and very effective, like a well written short letter. It is inspiring to work with an irresistible app like this. Try it...you will see what I mean. I almost forget its there, because its like an extension of myself.

Best iOS Email App for GTD

This subject was pre-populated, but it fits my opinion to a T.

Great mail & productivity app

This app is great for power users . I love this app!!!! Thanks for all the great updates!!! keeps getting better and better!

Quickly cut through email

This app has great integration with apps allowing my to quickly turn emails into action items in other apps. Thanks guys!

Wonderful app for processing email

Dispatch is thoughtfully designed and integrates with everything you could hope for. I havent found anything better for sorting email into task apps and trash.
